Brad Little: SPF Powerstation Pro/Am Recap

By Team Juggernaut

I want to start off by saying that even thought I didn’t do awesome this was all around a great weekend for me, and probably the most fun meet I have ever participated in.
I weighed in at 181.00 @ 7:00a.m. saturday morning.

Sunday

Squat warm up

bar x a lot
155 x 3
265 x 2
Predator briefs added
355 x 2
Belt added
445 x 1
Suit bottoms added
535 x 1
Straps up and knee wraps
585 x 1

Everything felt extremely fast but I was having trouble sitting the bar as low as it needed to be due to the thickness of the “Bulldog Bar”.

Opened at 635
635       Felt very easy but I was in a very strange position due to the bar
x680     The bar was much higher on my back than I wanted and I got tossed forward as I came up
680       Finally for the bar in an OK position and got a pretty easy squat with this

Bench warm up

bar x 10
145 x 3
195 x 2
235 x 1
SDP added
325 x 1 2-board
375 x 1 1-board

I realized my shirt was extremely lose and that my not being able to gain all of my weight back had effected me more than I first thought.

Opened at 425
x425    Everything that could have went wrong did, I was rushed and the shirt was not set up right.
x425    My nerves got to me and I missed what should have been an extremely easy press
425      I calmed down and had possibly the fastest competition bench of my life

Deadlift warm up

135 x 2
135 x 2
225 x 1
single ply Titan briefs added
315 x 1
belt added
405 x 1
405 x 1
suit bottoms added
495 x 1
straps up
585 x 1

Everything felt awesome. I was fast and for once in my life my hands felt pretty strong!

Opened at 675
675      Great opener, I was smooth, the bar stayed close, no grip loss, and I felt the bar whip up top.
730      Honestly this didn’t feel like more than 600lbs to me, the bar path was exactly what I wanted
x745    Didn’t really need this pull because 730 guaranteed me the money, so when I felt a slight twitch
in my lower back I dropped it and decided to wait another day.

Ended with an 1835 total.
Best deadlift coefficient ($1000)
4th place overall lightweight ($500)
1st place 181
10x body weight total
#1 ranked deadlift

This wasn’t exactly what I wanted but considering the trouble I had gaining my weight back after my cut and the way my gear felt I think it’s just fine. I had such a good time this weekend the sub-par performance couldn’t matter less, it was great! I had a lot of good friends there to watch and I got to watch my best friend, training partner, and roommate Corey Hayes get his first Pro Total. I even got to catch up with some old friends. Bringing home $1500 was pretty sweet too!
