Interview with Olympian/Director of Strength and Conditioning for UK Athletics, Tommy Yule

Chad sits down with Tommy Yule, Director of Strength and Conditioning for UK Athletics, to talk training, programming for maximum speed, staying healthy as you mature as an athlete and balancing training for multiple strength disciplines. Enjoy this 39 minute interview with one of the World’s top coaches…

Chad and Juggernaut have had the pleasure to host a contingent of athletes from UK Athletics. UK Athletics is the governing body for Track & Field in England. Throughout the spring at Juggernaut there are countless Olympic, World Championship and European Championship Medalists, as well as an elite group of coaches, who in many cases were championship athletes in their own right.
It is always interesting to be able to observe the training of elite athletes. The athletes who come to Juggernaut from Great Britain are of a variety of ages, events and come from different coaches, which means that there are many different philosophies and training phases that can be observed.
This year I had the pleasure to spend quite a bit of time training and talking with Thomas Yule, Director of Strength and Conditioning for UK Athletics, as well as being a member of the 2000 British Olympic Team as a Weightlifter, a sport in which he still holds the National Record in the Snatch with 165kg in the 105kg weight class. Now as a father of 2 and coach, Yule continues to compete in Olympic Lifting, as well as Strongman.
